You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file
by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism. -Erma Bombeck
As Ross put it so eloquently this morning, the Declaration of Independence is an awesome mission statement for this country. I will only throw in that I think we need to remember what it actually says and not what we perceive it says. It’s pretty clear about all men (and women) being created equal and that we are ALL of value.
Take care, my friends on this weekend and enjoy each other. With picnics and family/friends, this is the time we remember who gave us this opportunity to pursue that happiness that our founding fathers wrote so many years ago.
And we are off to the races …
