Morning Coffee – Choose Your Own Adventure Edition

You're darn tootin' I had this book!

Maybe I’m the only one in the world that remembers these books. Seriously, I’ve talked and talked about them over the years, and people look at me like I have three heads.

They were some of my favorite books when I was in 3rd-5th grades because you could read them over and over again, and get to a different ending almost every time.

Of course, after reading several of these, you realize you can read them backwards and that pretty much kills it.

These books were fun because, as a child with limited ability to make many choices you got to make decisions and read the consequences of those decisions. Sometimes you would end up falling down a ravine, others you would find hidden treasure. Since it wasn’t real, you had the opportunity to go back if you didn’t like the outcome and try again. Pretty neat if you ask me.

I don’t know what happened to them. Once I reached 6th grade I pretty much lost interest in them, but they are still around and publishing new books.

I don’t really have any bigger message in all this, just feeling nostalgic this morning.

On to the Coffee!

When you look at the number this way it doesn’t seem so bad.

Please caption this bizarre photo.

Ramsey thinks requiring parents attendance at PTA meetings is an appropriate role for the gubament.

Will Obama’s endorsement of Cohen be the kiss of death? I think we may have found an exception.

I can’t believe more people aren’t outraged over this bs ad.

Think the issues are more important than the candidates? So does the Mid-South Peace and Justice Center. Come out to First Congo this evening at 6:30, meet the candidates and talk about the issues.

Have a great day!
