This is excellent news for people who rent and lost their shelter and possessions in the flood.
Renters whose homes — apartments, mobile homes or houses — were made uninhabitable due to severe storm damage may qualify for assistance from FEMA’s Individual and Households Program.
This program offers funds to rent alternative housing while repairs are made to their dwelling and free help to find new rental property.
Another option for some renters may be Other Needs Assistance, designed to help survivors with uninsured, but necessary, expenses and serious needs caused by the disaster.
It’s good news for those who rent. Not everyone owns their homes so this might give a little relief for an entire state that has lost so much due to the floods.
