Folks, the weekends just aren’t long enough. That’s the only conclusion that I can come to.
Seriously, there’s just too much stuff to do (some of which is lounging) and not enough time to do it.
I don’t know, maybe it’s that I had to work Saturday. Maybe it’s that I have a million little projects going on. Maybe, maybe, maybe. There’s a whole lot of maybes there and in the end, it really doesn’t matter.
I think everyone has a million little balls in the air at any given time, and taking an extra day or two to let the ones that really just don’t matter a damn fall where they may just might be the best thing for our collective sanity.
Sure, you might drop one or two that are really important, but chances are, you won’t. If something’s really that important you’ll either find a way, or make contingencies.
But I think there is value to letting some of the less important things just fall where they may. It’s like resetting the clock. Some of the crap that you had no business dealing with or that wasn’t really all that important to begin with will get re-prioritized appropriately (the “I’ll get to it when I get to it” bin) allowing the really important stuff to reclaim it’s priority.
We all need to hit the reset button sometimes, and more often than not, a weekend just isn’t enough time to do it.
So as you make your way through this week, and plan for a likely hustle and bustle upcoming three day weekend, just stop. Quit being such a damn task master and allow yourself the time you deserve. You need it more than you think you do.
Ok, on to the coffee…

Back on the 6th we mentioned the We Are Nashville t-shirts. The folks in Dyer Co. have now have one of their own.
Remember all those uninspected dams we talked about last week. Looks like the state will start inspecting some of them.
The City Paper asks, “What happened to the people of tent city?” Good question.
And finally, a shout out to my old hometown, Osceola, AR. Seems they got some new green jobs coming their way. Congratulations!
