Sorry, joel. Snopes said this statement is true. And I don’t think any context makes this crass comment ok.

He was also quite clear that his remarks were taken completely out of context, and were not, made in response “to those worried restaurateurs facing rising prices for shrimp and oysters.”… he was answering a question he believed was about whether or not it were safe to eat shrimp at Gulf Coat restaurants. He responded by saying that one must check with local officials to get the straight story there, and that “Louisiana isn’t the only place that has shrimp.” The implication, in his mind, was that Mississippi, Alabama & Florida also must deal with this, and perhaps there are other, larger, problems facing us all, whoever the culprit.
