The KNS ace Tom Humphrey reports that the once-empty TN-06 field has now doubled:
Iraq war veteran Brett Carter is the second Democrat to file a petition to run for the congressional seat being vacated by Rep. Bart Gordon.
Carter’s filing on Thursday comes a few days after 34-year-old Marine Capt. Ben Leming, who got permission from the secretary of the Navy to file his candidacy, but can’t actively campaign until his active duty ends May 1.
What are they seeing that hasn’t been there before? The CW (especially at the Kleinheider era Post Politics) would have you believe this was a GOP lock for November, so maybe the fact that the Democratic Congress actually achieved a major victory with HIR is starting to pull things back toward the Democrats.
