I woke up this morning fully expecting it to be grey and rainy. My iPhone weather app had told me so just before I went to sleep last night. Imagine my surprise when I opened my eyes to see a bright warm orange glow illuminating my room. At first I thought I had left a light on or something. Upon further inspection, and after putting on my glasses, I discovered that yes, the day ball has made another surprise appearance this morning. I’m thrilled.
Work kept me from spending time in the sun yesterday, but today, I’m going to put aside some time to enjoy it. You should too.
Now, on to the linkage!
Want a conceal/carry permit? Apparently you’re not alone. The Commercial Appeal reports that there are some 51,000 new people with conceal/carry licenses in the state, an increase of 23%. Shelby County permit holders increased by just 16%. Not sure what all this means, but I think I’ll take refuge in a bar until the whole “Guns in Bars” thing figured out.
I’m sorry, but this looks disgustingly delicious!
The Memphis Liberal critiques the pages of both “pro” and “con” sides of the Metro Charter AKA Consolidation debate.
Smart City Memphis has a post about positive news. I didn’t live here when the “if it bleeds it leads” phenomena started, but I remember when it started in Little Rock. 1986, right about the time that the gang activity started REALLY getting out of hand, even though all the area police departments denied it. Personally, I don’t expect news to make me feel good, but I also don’t want it to purposefully ratchet up my anxiety level or overblow something just for eyeballs. Just sayin’.
Alright, that’s all I’ve got for now. Don’t forget to tip your bar tenders and wait staff. As for me, I’m gonna get myself out into the sun while I can.
