Good morning. It’s Saturday, and even though it’s supposed to get up to 60 today they’re saying it might be cloudy. I’m looking out my window right now and seeing some bright patches of blue sky. As your weather attorney, I advise you to get out of your house and spend at least 30 minutes in the sun while it’s there. The rain comes back tomorrow.

Here’s a picture to help you remember. Make it the background image on your computer or something. Burn this image into your mind. Say his name over and over again to yourself while you look at his picture. Make his legislative page your browser homepage. You must remember…you must remember…

Gene was fortunate enough to retire before the the Gazette lost the newspaper war in 1991. He’s a part of Arkansas journalism history, and he will be missed.

If you’re not in Memphis, or not down with the Tigers, get out and do something. Go patronize some of those socialist institutions that Republicans like to demonize so much like public libraries or parks. Use our socialist roads to go engage in some capitalism. You know, get out of the house. You’ll thank me for it later.
